More Than Learning: Building a Community Where Students Can Grow with Purpose
By Carrie Riley’s Learning Community · November 3, 2026 · STEM, Life Skills, Curriculum, Character
Choosing an educational experience for your child is a personal decision. As parents, you want your children to learn, grow, build confidence, and feel supported. You want them to have opportunities to discover what they are good at while developing the skills they will need beyond the classroom.
That is part of the reason I created Carrie Riley’s Learning Community in Winter Haven, Florida.
My journey in education includes more than five years of substitute teaching, along with experience as a middle school math educator. Working with students helped me recognize how important it is to create learning experiences that encourage curiosity, build confidence, and help children recognize their potential.
I wanted to build something that brought more together than academics alone.
Learning That Goes Beyond the Textbook
At Carrie Riley’s Learning Community, learning is about more than completing assignments. It is about asking questions, exploring ideas, practicing new skills, working with others, and discovering how what students learn connects to everyday life.
Our educational opportunities include:
K–8 Microschool: A structured, faith-centered learning environment for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Enrichment & Discovery: Hands-on learning opportunities that introduce students to areas such as STEM, creative communication, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, life skills, agriculture, and Bible and community service.
Workshops & Experiences: Seasonal camps and special learning experiences designed to encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and leadership.
Math Coaching: Additional math support for students in grades 1–12, available in person, online, and in group settings.
Each offering has its own schedule, registration process, and participation requirements.
Faith, Purpose, and Personal Growth
Faith is an important part of the heart behind this community. We believe students can grow in knowledge while also learning about integrity, responsibility, kindness, perseverance, and leadership.
Our motto is:
Learn with Purpose. Lead with Faith.
We want students to understand that learning is not simply about what they know today. It is also about the people they are becoming and how they can use their gifts to make a positive difference.
A Community for Families
Carrie Riley’s Learning Community is being built with families in mind. We value communication, meaningful learning experiences, and opportunities for students to connect with others.
Whether a family is exploring a microschool option, looking for additional enrichment, interested in a summer experience, or seeking math support, our goal is to provide opportunities that meet students where they are and encourage them to keep growing.
